abstract | (57) [Summary]n(a) from about 0.001% to about 50% by weight of a deodorant active, fragrance, or combination thereof; (b) from about 0.01% to about 20% by weight of a gelling agent; (D) about 5% to about 90% by weight of a high molecular weight alcohol having at least one free hydroxyl group and having about 2 to about 80 alkoxylate radicals each having about 2 to about 6 carbon atoms; 5% to about 90% by weight of non-polymeric alcohols having at least two free hydroxyl groups and each having from about 3 to about 20 carbon atoms, the ratio of high-molecular weight alcohol to non-high-molecular weight alcohol being Is from about 18: 1 to about 1: 5; (e) a gelled deodorant composition comprising from 0% to about 10% by weight of glycerin; and (f) from about 0.01% to about 89% by weight of water. Is disclosed. Also disclosed is a method of controlling malodor associated with sweat by topical application of a deodorant composition containing a selected combination of triclosan and triclocarban. All of these compositions remain clear or transparent over time and have a dry feel, ease of application, softening, long lasting fragrance, and a powder-free residue. In addition to the improved cosmetic benefits, there is no or little skin irritation. |
