(57) [Summary]nAn inactive precursor form of PSA (pPSA) was identified. At least one of these forms of pPSA is present in human serum. Provided is an expression vector that stably expresses PSA in the form of pPSA in a mammalian system. Provided is a method for detecting an inactive precursor of PSA in a physiological fluid of human. In addition to antibodies specific for pPSA, diagnostic kits and methods useful for diagnosing and managing prostate cancer are also provided. |
