titleOfInvention | Selection of mature sperm by surface membrane determinants |
abstract | (57) [Summary]nA method and system for selecting mature sperm for assisted reproductive methods, such as, for example, intracytoplasmic sperm injection, comprises applying a binding substrate specific for mature sperm to a surface; Providing; contacting the sperm suspension with the mature sperm binding substrate on the surface. Next, the method includes binding mature sperm from the sperm suspension to the mature sperm binding substrate at its periphery; removing the bound sperm from the periphery of the mature sperm binding substrate. Preferably, the mature sperm binding substrate is a fluid, and the structural or functional of the sperm binding element or zona of the female genital tract, or hyaluronic acid or a salt thereof, polysaccharide, glycosaminoglycan, zona pellucida component, egg membrane protein zone, or female genital tract. Includes functional homologs or analogs. |
