abstract (57) [Summary]nThe present invention is a bioabsorbable fiber containing a semi-crystalline fiber-forming core polymer and an amorphous coating polymer, wherein the core polymer and the coating polymer are separately melt extruded and bonded to each other by adhesive bonding. Bioabsorbable fibers. The invention also relates to a reinforced composite of bioabsorbable fibers, and a device comprising the reinforced composite. This device is suitable for in vivo implants. Some aspects of the invention can also support fracture fixation and spinal fixation because they can support high loads. The invention also relates to a method for producing the various materials of the invention.
