abstract | (57) [Problem] To provide a processing method capable of removing a hardly decomposable organic substance contained in sewage without a high processing cost and a high COD removal rate. SOLUTION: In a method for treating wastewater, a packed bed of particulate matter is immersed in a liquid, and gas containing oxygen is diffused from a lower part of the packed bed and raw water is supplied from an upper part or a lower part of the packed bed. A method of treating sewage containing an organic compound which is hardly decomposable, comprising: providing an electrode disposed in a part of the packed layer in a non-contacting manner and applying an electric voltage; Also, Preferably, the voltage is applied in a pulsed manner and the packed bed contains activated carbon or anthracite. |
