abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing an improved colorant particle dispersion for inkjet printing. SOLUTION: In order, I) suspending the finely divided colorant particles in an aqueous medium while stirring to prepare an aqueous colorant mixture, and II) start addition polymerization to the aqueous colorant mixture. And III) generating free radicals in the addition polymerization initiator while the aqueous colorant mixture comprises: a) an addition polymerization initiator; and b) at least one ethylenically unsaturated monomer. The method for producing composite colorant particles comprises the steps of: continuously introducing a monomer mixture containing, thereby producing composite colorant particles having a colorant phase and a polymer phase. |
