abstract (57) [Problem] To provide a method for producing cyano norbornene which can be sufficiently employed industrially. SOLUTION: In producing cyanonorbornene by continuously reacting acrylonitrile with cyclopentadiene or dicyclopentadiene, unreacted acrylonitrile and part of cyclopentadiene or dicyclopentadiene are recovered from the top of the flash unit. The reaction product containing cyanonorbornene recovered from the bottom of the flash unit is supplied to the purification tower, and the reaction product containing cyanonorbornene is recovered from the bottom of the purification tower, and the remaining unreacted acrylonitrile and cyclopentadiene or Dicyclopentadiene is recovered from the top of the purification tower, and unreacted acrylonitrile and cyclopentadiene or dicyclopentadiene recovered from the flash unit and the purification tower are reused as a raw material for producing cyanonorbornene.
