abstract | (57) [Summary] [PROBLEMS] To search for a protein that binds to Mec1 of budding yeast belonging to an ATM-related factor, to provide a mutant of the protein, and a DNA for producing the mutant. SOLUTION: A factor Pie1 interacting with Mec1 in budding yeast was isolated, and the function of Pie1 in checkpoint control was analyzed, and mutants pie1-KA and pie1-ΔC of the protein were produced. pie1-K A is a mutant in which the lysines at positions 177 and 178 of Pie1 have been substituted with alanine. A mutant in which amino acids have been deleted. Experiments have shown that these mutants result in abnormalities in the control of cell proliferation and checkpoint response. |
