PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-based ink for ink-jet recording which is capable of high-quality printing with high print density without bleeding or ink strike-through, and has excellent water resistance and good dispersion stability. . SOLUTION: An aqueous ink composition containing a water-soluble polyamide resin (C) in an aqueous medium comprising at least water, pigment-colored resin particles contained in a resin (A) having an acidic group, and a base (B). Especially water-soluble polyamide resin (C) (1) a monomer or multimer of ε-caprolactam or aminocaproic acid as a condensation monomer component of (2) Ink jet recording containing a saturated aliphatic dicarboxylic acid (3) polyoxyalkylenediamine or a condensed compound containing at least one of the components (1) to (3) among diamines having a heterocyclic structure containing nitrogen.
