Polyhydroxyalkanoate and method for producing the same, and ω- (2-thienylsulfanyl) alkanoic acid and method for producing the same |
abstract |
(57) A PHA containing a novel 3-hydroxy-thioalkanoic acid unit having a highly reactive thienyl group in a side chain; The manufacturing method is provided. SOLUTION: 5- (2-thienylsulfanyl) valeric acid represented by the following chemical formula [4] or 6- represented by chemical formula [5] (2-thienylsulfanyl) hexanoic acid. A method for producing PHA, which further comprises a step of recovering PHA from microbial cells cultured in a medium containing the same, and the resulting novel chemical formula PHA shown in [1].
