PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging material which avoids or at least reduces some problems of packaging materials proposed hitherto. SOLUTION: An ink print 36 is applied to the outer surface of a substrate consisting of a single layer 34 of white stretched polypropylene material. An electron beam curable (EB) coating 38 is applied over the ink print 36. The EB coating 38 cures as soon as it is applied, providing a protective layer that prevents the ink from bleeding and abrading during handling, It also acts as a release layer for the coating of cold seals discussed below. |
