(57) [Summary] [PROBLEMS] To increase the recording capacity of an optical recording material. An optical recording material that, when exposed to actinic radiation, provides an information pattern for storing and retrieving information by producing a change in optical properties in an exposed area, comprising: a) a binder; A reactant that can be chemically converted by one-electron oxidation, the chemical conversion resulting in the change in optical properties in the exposed region; and c) absorbing actinic radiation to produce an initial one-electron oxidation of the reactant. An optical recording material comprising a sensitizer that is capable of being sensitized. |
