titleOfInvention Alkaline battery separator
abstract (57) [Summary] (with correction) [PROBLEMS] To obtain a film-shaped separator that allows oxygen gas generated at the time of overcharging of an alkaline secondary battery to pass well, does not easily increase the internal pressure of the battery, and does not short-circuit. SOLUTION: This is an alkaline battery separator composed of a porous film having irregularities formed on at least one surface, and the average pore size of the porous film is 35% or less with respect to its apparent thickness, preferably the film surface. A separator for an alkaline battery, which is an ultrahigh molecular weight polyolefin-based synthetic resin having a hydrophilic functional group such as a sulfonic acid group, a carboxyl group, or a hydroxyl group in a part thereof and having an intrinsic viscosity of 5 or more. This alkaline battery separator, It is possible to provide a battery which is capable of improving gas permeability while maintaining the advantage of a film-like separator that short-circuiting is difficult, and which is excellent in safety, in which short-circuiting does not occur and the internal pressure does not increase.
