(57) [Problem] To provide a coating type magnetic recording medium which is easy to disperse and has good running durability and electromagnetic conversion characteristics including a ferromagnetic powder having a good degree of dispersion. A magnetic recording medium comprising at least one surface of a support and a constituent layer including at least a magnetic layer containing ferromagnetic powder, wherein the magnetic layer has a molecular weight of 1,000 to 80. A magnetic recording medium comprising a ferromagnetic powder treated with at least one kind of anionic surfactant selected from a carboxylic acid amine salt and a phosphoric acid ester amine salt. |
