titleOfInvention Nickel hydroxide for alkaline secondary battery and method for producing the same
abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conductive property between nickel hydroxide particles by reducing the surface of the nickel hydroxide to a highly conductive nickel metal, and to provide a nickel hydroxide suitable for a positive electrode of an alkaline secondary battery. And a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: At least one metal selected from Pd, Pt, and Ru, or an alloy comprising the metal is supported on the surface of nickel hydroxide, or a catalyst is prepared in which the metal or the alloy is previously supported. A method for producing nickel hydroxide for a cathode material for an alkaline secondary battery, comprising mixing the catalyst and nickel hydroxide and reducing the mixture in a reducing atmosphere at a temperature not higher than the decomposition temperature of nickel hydroxide. The nickel hydroxide obtained by the method of the present invention is characterized in that the reduction amount to nickel metal is 10 to 30% and the specific resistance of the dust resistance at 39.2 MPa is 8000 to 0.08 Ωcm. .
