PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tire having a component made of a rubber composition which maintains a low plasticity and viscosity level during a mixing operation and has stable and improved physical properties. SOLUTION: The present invention relates to an emulsion polymerization-derived terpolymer rubber containing hydroxyl side groups, particularly a diene-based hydrocarbon, and an emulsion polymerization-derived terpolymer derived from a vinyl aromatic compound monomer, particularly a hydroxyalkyl methacrylate. The present invention relates to a tire having at least one component member of a silica-reinforced rubber composition containing a primary copolymer rubber. Preferably, the hydroxyalkyl methacrylate is hydroxypropyl methacrylate (HPMA). Preferably, at least one additional elastomer is blended with the terpolymer. The rubber composition is produced by blending the components and a coupling agent following addition of the silica reinforcement. The tire component may be, for example, a tire tread. |
