[PROBLEMS] To efficiently and inexpensively produce benzyl esters industrially. SOLUTION: In a method for producing a benzyl ester by reacting a benzyl compound and a carboxylic acid in the presence of a molecular oxygen in the presence of a solid catalyst containing at least palladium as an active component, the oxygen partial pressure in the reaction system is reduced. Supplies molecular oxygen into the reaction solution under a pressurized condition of 0.098 MPa or more. |
