abstract (57) [Summary] (Modifications) [PROBLEMS] In a power supply device for DC characteristics measurement having a current limiting function, the amount of overcurrent during a transient period of an instantaneous load condition can be significantly reduced. A current detection means (R5) inserted in series between a driving buffer and a load device provided in an output stage of a power supply device for measuring DC characteristics and detecting a load current is provided. A current clamp means 100 for generating a clamp signal for limiting the load current when the load current exceeds a predetermined limit current in response to the load current detection signal received. A first clamp means D10 for controlling a current by clamping an end of the power supply. The current clamp means clamps a voltage signal at an input terminal of a driving buffer provided in an output stage of the power supply device for measuring DC characteristics to thereby control a current. A second clamping means D20 for performing the restriction is provided.
