abstract | (57) [Summary] (with correction) [Problem] To efficiently and conveniently prepare 2-aminoindan derivatives, Industrially advantageous processes and intermediates are provided. SOLUTION: A substituted phenylalanine derivative of the general formula 1 is cyclized in the presence of a Lewis acid to give a 2-aminoindan-1-one derivative of the general formula 2, and then a 2-amino derivative of the general formula 3 is treated with a reducing agent. A method for producing an indan-1-ol derivative. (R 1 and R 5 represent a hydroxyl group, an alkyloxy group, or the like; R 2 represents a leaving group. R 3 and R 4 each represent a substituent that can be substituted on hydrogen or nitrogen, or R 3 and R 4 may together form a nitrogen-containing ring. ) |
