titleOfInvention Blood component collection device
abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blood component collecting apparatus having a high yield of a desired blood component such as platelets obtained by centrifugation or a high removal rate of leukocytes in the platelets. SOLUTION: The blood component collecting device 1 has a rotor 142 having a blood storage space 146 therein, an inlet 143 and an outlet 144 communicating with the blood storage space 146, and is introduced from the inlet 143 by rotation of the rotor 142. And a centrifugal separator 20 for centrifuging the collected blood into a plurality of blood components in the blood storage space 146. A first optical sensor 15 and a second optical sensor 15 'are provided on the sides and above the centrifuge 20, respectively. These optical sensors 15 and 15 ′ are respectively connected to the blood storage space 1. The light is projected toward 46 and the reflected light is received, and the position of the interface (interface B) of the blood component is detected based on the change in the amount of received light. The first optical sensor 15 and the second optical sensor 15 'have different light projection directions, and the optical axes of the light beams are non-parallel.
