abstract (57) Abstract: The present invention relates to a high performance liquid chromatography apparatus suitable for use in melatonin analysis, and an object of the present invention is to efficiently perform high-precision melatonin analysis processing. SOLUTION: A sample injection device 5 for introducing a pineal sample into a mobile phase flowing through the device, a first column 16 for separating the introduced pineal sample, and melatonin from the separated components. A high-performance liquid chromatography apparatus having a detector 18 for detection, on the downstream side of the sample injector 5 with respect to the flow direction of the pineal sample, and in the first column 16. Is provided with a reactor 6 and a first column 15 for derivatizing the pineal gland.
