A medical balloon catheter having a catheter shaft composed of a distal shaft and a proximal shaft, and having a balloon at a distal end of the distal shaft, wherein the proximal shaft is a single member. The medical balloon catheter is constituted by a member, and a distal end portion of the proximal shaft has lower rigidity than other portions of the proximal shaft.
