abstract | (57) [Problem] To provide means for recovering high-purity magnesium hydroxide from the precipitation of gypsum and magnesium hydroxide. SOLUTION: Quick lime, slaked lime or slaked lime slurry is added to a solution introduced into a crystallization tank, and preferably 30 to 80 times. Heated to ℃ to form gypsum and magnesium hydroxide, The precipitated gypsum is withdrawn from the bottom of the tank, while the suspension containing unprecipitated gypsum particles and magnesium hydroxide particles is guided to a liquid cyclone, the magnesium hydroxide fine particles at the top of the cyclone are collected, and the gypsum particles and water at the bottom of the cyclone are further collected. A method for recovering gypsum and magnesium hydroxide, comprising returning a mixture of magnesium oxide to a crystallization tank. |
