abstract (57) [Problem] To provide a novel retinal ganglion cell culture medium and an ophthalmic composition angiogenesis inhibitor. SOLUTION: Human amniotic epithelial cells were separated from the placenta obtained at cesarean section based on informed consent by a known method, and cultured in RPMI medium containing 10% FCS (fetal calf serum). After washing with PBS (physiological phosphate buffer), the cells were cultured in a serum-free medium for 48 hours, and the supernatant was collected. When retinal ganglion cells were cultured using the medium containing the HAEC culture supernatant, the cells could be cultured at a very high survival rate.
