abstract (57) [Problem] To provide a display device without warping, elongation, cracking, etc., and by maintaining a predetermined interval (cell gap) between substrates forming the display device. Provided are an electro-optical device capable of improving the resolution and chromaticity of an image, a method of manufacturing the electro-optical device for obtaining the electro-optical device, and an electronic apparatus including the electro-optical device. A liquid crystal device according to the present invention includes a liquid crystal device substrate (1). The liquid crystal device substrate 12 is composed of a metal substrate 16, a light-transmitting insulating layer 17 and a transparent electrode 18, and a liquid crystal device is sealed and sandwiched between these substrates. The insulating layer 17 is composed of a color filter 21 and a flattening film 22 of a resin layer. The opposite substrate is composed of a transparent plastic substrate, a transparent electrode, a light scattering film and a polarizing film. It is characterized by having a reflective surface of nature.
