abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-absorbing agent which is excellent in hygroscopicity under pressure and under no pressure, has high safety to skin and the like, and is suitable for sanitary materials, and a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: The water absorbing agent of the present invention is characterized in that at least a part of the surface of the water absorbing resin particles (A) is formed from an adduct of a polyvalent amine compound (B) and a compound (C) having an olefinic double bond. Coated with a coating film. In the method for producing a water-absorbing agent of the present invention, a polyvalent amine compound (B) and a compound having an olefinic double bond (C) are added to the water-absorbing resin particles (A), followed by an addition reaction.
