abstract (57) [Problem] To provide a cylindrical secondary battery having higher weight energy efficiency. In a cylindrical secondary battery including a spirally wound electrode plate group in which a positive and negative electrode plate is wound with a separator interposed therebetween, the positive and negative electrode plates have a plurality of electrode plate ears. And an active material held on the electrode plate base, wherein at least one electrode is formed by sequentially connecting adjacent electrode plate lugs. This eliminates the need for a strap that has conventionally been used to connect the plate ears, and provides a cylindrical secondary battery having a higher weight energy density.
