titleOfInvention | Method for producing silver halide emulsion |
abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for increasing the sensitivity of an emulsion comprising silver halide tabular grains having a small grain thickness and having a phase having a high silver iodide content inside the grains. SOLUTION: A silver halide emulsion composed of tabular silver iodobromide or silver iodochlorobromide grains having an aspect ratio of 5 or more and a grain thickness of 0.25 μm or less in a projected area of 50% or more is prepared as follows. A method for producing a silver halide emulsion, which is prepared by a method comprising steps (a) and (b). (A) a step of forming a silver iodide-containing phase having a silver iodide content of 15 mol% or more and 40 mol% or less in the middle of a silver halide tabular grain growth step, and (b) forming a silver iodide-containing phase. 50 A step of ripening the silver halide emulsion at a temperature of not less than 85 ° C. for not less than 5 minutes. |
