abstract | (57) Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide an ink jet recording medium having high gloss, high ink absorptivity, excellent image color, and no problem in handling. The present invention relates to an inkjet recording method comprising forming an undercoat layer containing a salt of an alkaline earth metal on a support, and coating a coating liquid for an ink receiving layer containing inorganic ultrafine particles on the undercoat layer. This is an ink jet recording medium in which a backing layer is provided on the surface of the medium opposite to the support having the ink receiving layer. More preferably, the alkaline earth metal is a carbonate of calcium or magnesium. It is a more preferred embodiment that the inorganic ultrafine particles are amorphous synthetic silica or an alumina compound obtained by a gas phase method. In a preferred embodiment, the thickness of the backing layer is 5 μm or more and 30 μm or less, and the backing layer contains an inorganic pigment and / or a spherical organic pigment. |
