titleOfInvention Equipment for inserting materials into substrates
abstract [PROBLEMS] To develop a new processing technique that will achieve accurate orientation of fibers in a polymer constituent material. The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for inserting a material into a substrate. The device 10 includes a needle 14 Needle assembly 10 having a central portion 26 that is movable And an upper end 28 which is substantially fixed. The material 17 to be inserted is passed through the device 10 into the needle 14 and cut by the cutter 18 to the desired length. When the needle 14 penetrates the substrate, the material 1 7 is sent to the device 10 and the needle 14 As the material is withdrawn from the substrate 12, the next material is pushed into the needle 14, leaving the cut portion 16 in the substrate. The method of using the device may include the additional steps of directing the angle of the device and controlling the concentration of the inserted material on the substrate.
