(57) [Summary] [Problem] By effectively suppressing potential difference corrosion, An object of the present invention is to provide a rare earth permanent magnet which has excellent corrosion resistance even in a thin film, is environmentally friendly, has a coating that can be easily produced at low cost, and has a magnet surface, and a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: At least as components, (a) at least one metal selected from molybdenum, zirconium, vanadium and tungsten, (b) a rare earth metal constituting a magnet, and (c) oxygen on the surface of a rare earth permanent magnet.
