abstract (57) [Problem] To provide a fixing device which can increase the printing speed without increasing the outer diameter of a roller and in which the surface temperature of a heating roller reaches a predetermined temperature in a short time. SOLUTION: Heating rollers 3 and 4 which come into contact with recording paper 2 to which unfixed toner 5 is adhered are made of a metal foil having a low heat capacity and a small heat capacity formed in close contact with the outer peripheral surface of a heat-resistant elastic body. Heating is performed by bringing a heat source into contact with the outer surface.
