SOLUTION: A coating agent comprising polyvinyl alcohol (A), acrylic acid-maleic anhydride copolymer (B) and an aqueous solvent, wherein A / B is 97/3 to 3/97 (mass ratio), and heat A gas barrier film having a water-insoluble gas barrier layer obtained by coating and heat-treating at least one surface of a plastic resin film.
