abstract |
(57) [Problem] To provide a novel method for producing methacrylic acid, which effectively suppresses catalyst deterioration by controlling reaction conditions. SOLUTION: The method for producing methacrylic acid of the present invention circulates a raw material gas containing methacrolein, oxygen and water vapor through a reactor filled with a catalyst mainly composed of a composite oxide containing molybdenum and phosphorus. Wherein the concentration of methacrolein in the raw material gas is 4 to 6.5% by volume, the molar ratio of water vapor to methacrolein in the raw material gas is 1 to 2, The space velocity of the raw material gas with respect to the packed bed is 500 to 750 h −1 . |
