abstract (57) [Summary] [PROBLEMS] To sufficiently and quickly treat wastewater containing hardly decomposable organic matter. SOLUTION: This is a method of deodorizing and decolorizing the water to be treated by a photocatalyst or oxidatively decomposing organic substances in the water to be treated, and mixing a particulate water treatment material P having a photocatalyst layer p2 on the surface with the water to be treated. Then, the processing material mixed water X is irradiated with excitation light for photocatalyst while forcibly circulating the processing material mixed water X in the processing tank 1.
