(57) [Problem] To provide an alkaline secondary battery for large current discharge using a current collecting substrate having an excellent ability to carry an electrode mixture. SOLUTION: A positive electrode is prepared by supporting an electrode mixture on a current collecting substrate A made of a porous metal sheet 1 formed by a powder rolling method and having a plurality of openings 2 having burrs 3 on a peripheral portion. And the carrying area of the electrode mixture on the current collecting substrate 1 is 25 per theoretical capacity (Ah) of the battery. An alkaline secondary battery having a size of not less than cm 2 . |
