(57) [Problem] To provide a crack-free ink jet recording material having high ink absorption and gloss, excellent print density and gloss at a printed portion. SOLUTION: An aqueous dispersion composition A of fumed silica having a pH of 7 to 13 obtained by adding and dispersing an alkaline compound and fumed silica having an average primary particle diameter of 5 to 30 nm to an aqueous solvent is obtained. An ink-jet recording material in which an ink receiving layer containing fumed silica and a hydrophilic binder is coated on a support using, preferably, an acidic compound is mixed with an aqueous dispersion composition A of fumed silica, The aqueous dispersion composition B dispersed to have a pH of 3 to 6 is used for the ink receiving layer. |
