titleOfInvention | Liquid crystal optical element and method of manufacturing the same |
abstract | (57) Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a novel selective reflection type liquid crystal optical element for controlling reflection / absorption. SOLUTION: This is a liquid crystal optical element in which a light control layer 34 having a transparent solid material 52 and a liquid crystal material 63 exists between two substrates 16 and 17, wherein the light control layer 34 is the transparent solid material. The liquid crystal material 63 has a periodic structure in which the ratio between the liquid crystal material 52 and the liquid crystal material 63 changes periodically, and a dichroic dye material 64 is dissolved in the liquid crystal material 63. |
