(57) [Summary] (Modified) [PROBLEMS] To provide a wearable drug infusion device capable of achieving a precise flow rate control required for a dose critical drug such as insulin. A piezoelectrically actuated valve or pump structure uses a combination of a thermal flow sensor and a closed loop control circuit that controls flow. The drug infusion device 30 has very small dimensions to closely control the flow of insulin and other drugs. Expensive electronic components are contained in a reusable portion 34 and fluid delivery components are contained in a detachable disposable portion 32 to form a two-part structure. This reduces the cost of the device, ensures the sterilization of the drug, restricts the fluid flow path in the disposable part and prevents fluid contamination in the reusable part. Electronic control of the drug flow allows variable and / or programmable flow control. This is suitable for different needs of patients, time and delivery rate. |
