abstract (57) [Problem] To operate a diesel engine so that a plurality of predetermined components contained in exhaust gas become a predetermined value or less, and efficiently output desired power to a drive shaft. SOLUTION: With respect to a required output of a drive shaft 90, an efficient operation point in a continuous operation line in an operation region in which soot and NOx contained in exhaust gas are each equal to or less than a reference value is set as a target operation point on a continuous control line. To control the operation of the diesel engine 22, the motor MG <b> 1 connected to the engine output shaft 28 of the diesel engine 22 and the motor M selectively connectable to the drive shaft 90 or the engine output shaft 28. With G2, the power from the diesel engine 22 is converted into torque and output to the drive shaft 90, and the excess or deficiency with the required output is adjusted by the output from the motor MG2. As a result, the exhaust gas can be made cleaner and the fuel efficiency can be improved.
