abstract (57) Abstract: A switch having at least one flexible conductive member. The switch (10) comprises first and second substrates (14, 20) having a conductive surface, the conductive surfaces optionally facing each other across a groove. 16, 22). The first substrate (14) is flexible and comprises an essentially conductive substituted or unsubstituted polythiophene, optionally as a conductive coating (16). The switch may complete an electrical circuit comprising the wires (28, 30) when the two conductive surfaces come into contact when one of the substrates is pushed toward the other of the substrates. The polarity applied to the surface of the essentially conductive substituted or unsubstituted polythiophene is preferably negative. The voltage applied to the electrical circuit is preferably less than 5 volts, more preferably the voltage applied to the electrical circuit is less than 3 volts, and even more preferably the voltage applied to the electrical circuit is less than 1 volt.
