titleOfInvention Coating of chromium oxide or oxynitride and cutting tool formed with the coating
abstract (57) [Problem] To the effect that hard coating treatment is performed by forming a coating of chromium oxide or oxynitride exhibiting interference colors on a cutting tool having a hard coating formed by PVD processing. To the user. SOLUTION: The base material of the blade portion is a cutting tool made of any one of tool steel, cemented carbide and other cermets, and the blade portion has P A hard coating layer which is formed in a layer on the blade surface by VD treatment and is made of one or more of chromium or chromium nitride, carbide, carbonitride, and the flow rates of nitrogen and oxygen during PVD treatment Oxide or oxynitride of chromium formed on the cutting tool by controlling the ratio to be in the range of 0:10 to 4: 1 and exhibiting an interference color in which part or all of the spectral color in natural light is distributed in a stripe pattern. An interference color exhibited by a chromium oxide or oxynitride film, which is made of a material coating, allows the user to perceive that the hard coating treatment has been performed.
