abstract (57) [Summary] [PROBLEMS] To provide a light emitting device having a novel configuration in which a light emitting element and a phosphor are combined. SOLUTION: A light-emitting element having an emission wavelength in the range of 360 nm to 550 nm, and a Ca-Al- activated Eu 2+ . Using a phosphor made of Si-ON-based oxynitride, a part of light from the light emitting element is converted in wavelength by the phosphor and emitted.
