abstract | (57) Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide an ink jet recording medium having high gloss, high absorptivity and excellent image color, and a method for producing the same. An ink-jet recording medium comprising a support and an ink-absorbing layer containing a pigment and an adhesive, wherein the support comprises a coating layer containing an organic pigment on the side of the paper substrate on which the ink-absorbing layer is provided. Wherein the pigment of the ink absorbing layer is made of at least one selected from fumed silica and alumina hydrate. In addition, a method for producing an ink jet recording medium, wherein the ink absorbing layer is provided after the support is subjected to a heat calendering treatment. |
