PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce an olefin polymer which is copolymerizable with a polar monomer, has high activity and has few branches. SOLUTION: Periodic table groups 8 and 9 are obtained by ion exchange reaction. From a compound [c] obtained by intercalating a bisimide compound [b] containing a transition metal selected from Group 10 and Group 10 with an ion-exchange layered compound [a] and, if necessary, an organoaluminum compound [d] The olefin is polymerized using the resulting olefin polymerization catalyst. |
