abstract | (57) [Problem] To provide a method for producing high-purity pyridinecarboxylic acid with high yield. SOLUTION: A step of contacting an alkylpyridine with oxygen in the presence of a specific imide compound (reaction step 1), (B) a step of separating a crystallization component containing pyridinecarboxylic acid and a non-crystallization component containing a catalyst from the reaction mixture (crystallization step 2 and filtration step 3), and separating and purifying pyridinecarboxylic acid from the crystallization component. Through the steps (washing step 4 and drying step 5), pyridinecarboxylic acid is efficiently produced. If necessary, the reaction mixture from the reactor 1 may be subjected to a concentration step. |
