(57) [Summary] PTBS not containing biphenyl as an impurity Or a tertiary-butoxystyrene such as MTBS. SOLUTION: A Grignard reagent prepared from a tertiary-butoxyphenyl halide is prepared in the presence of at least one catalyst selected from the group consisting of a manganese-based catalyst, an iron-based catalyst, a cobalt-based catalyst and a rhodium-based catalyst. By reacting with vinyl halide, tertiary-butoxystyrene containing no biphenyl as an impurity is produced. |
