(57) [Problem] To provide an oxidation method of an alcohol compound using an environment-friendly trivalent iodine compound as an oxidizing agent. SOLUTION: In the presence of water, a trivalent organic iodine compound is acted on a primary or secondary alcohol compound together with a bromide salt if necessary to oxidize the compound, and the corresponding carboxylic acid compound or ketone is oxidized. Compounds and the like are obtained. |
