abstract | (57) [Summary] An object of the present invention is to provide a ceramic exterior material having a uniform material in a peripheral portion and an inner portion and having excellent frost resistance and crack resistance. When a papermaking mat (11) obtained by papermaking a slurry of a raw material mixture containing a hydraulic inorganic material and reinforcing fibers is cut into a predetermined product shape, a portion (A) corresponding to a peripheral portion of the plate is obtained. B is prepressed so that the moisture content of this portion is lower than that of the inner portion, and then the main press is performed to transfer the moisture of the inner portion to the prepress portions A and B so that the moisture content of the mat is made uniform throughout.
