PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently obtaining a resin composition of a saponified ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer and a water-swellable layered inorganic compound, which can suppress coloring (yellowing) and efficiently. SOLUTION: In producing a resin composition containing a saponified ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (A) and a water-swellable layered inorganic compound (B), ethylene-vinyl acetate having a water content of 50% by weight or less is used. While melting and mixing the saponified copolymer (A) and the water-swellable layered inorganic compound (B), water is removed to make the water content in the resin composition 5% by weight or less. |
